Dry Ridge Productions is a nonprofit
organization (501-C-3) made up of an eclectic brew of acoustic
music fans working to promote the art of original acoustic
music in the upstate of South Carolina. We have been presenting
artists since October of 1997.
In our
brief tenure we have branched out into several areas. Here
are some of the pies in our oven, irons in our fire, feathers
in our hat, notches in our belt... (you pick the metaphor
that work best for you)
Underground
Folk at the Fellowship is our original once a month
series that has been moved from the Coffee Underground,
after 6 years of beautiful music, now to be hosted at the
Greenville Unitarian Universalist Fellowship located at
1135 State Park Road in Greenville, SC.
AcousticSeen at the Coffee
Underground is the expanded series that was formerly
presented each week on Wednesdays. Now Wednesdays
are our open mic night and on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays
we are presenting the full spectrum of original and traditional
acoustic music, the foundation of which will always be songwriters.
Whitman's Back Room is a wonderful
80 seat listening room in the back of Whitman's Ice Cream
and Sub Shoppe at 127 North Main Street in Simpsonville
SC. We have consolidated the songwriters series that
we previously presented at Whitman's into the AcousticSeen
series but will continue to present artists of various performing
disciplines whenever possible.
Fall for Greenville in 2003 was our
first opportunity to present an Acoustic Stage as a part
of this long standing downtown Greenville SC celebration.
We hope to participate again each year.
Underground Folk Radio
This weekly, 2-hour radio show focuses on today's independent
contemporary folk artists and informs the public of the
area's live music happenings. We are temporarily off the
air but hope to resume broadcasting one day. (click for
our last seasons play lists.)
Reedy River Folk Festival
We co-produced this festival with The Friends of the Reedy
River. It was held on the Brashier campus of Greenville
Technical College in the Spring of 2000. The festival included
one-day classes designed to promote environmental awareness
and a concert of nationally recognized performers. (click
